“Shoop! Shoop! Shoop! Shoop!” That was the sound of me and my fellow dollar bills getting printed. I was a one hundred dollar bill, and that was really rare! Everyone loved me, because of my value. But as they say, all good things come to an end. It is true because my fellow dollars and I were going to go into the real world. We are done with the factory. It is sad, but it is true.
Now, I am officially in a truck driving to the Federal Bureau of Inspection. The truck is undercover so that nobody raids the truck to steal money. Everyone is really scared, but not me because I know exactly what is going to happen. It is because I am a hundred dollar bill. Hundred dollar bills are always the best at everything, including being smart. They know everything. I was going to the hundred dollar bill section, while the others were going to the fives, tens, and twenty-dollar bills section.
I could tell that the machine was checking me, but it stopped, and the alarms went off! For a second, I thought that something was wrong with me, but I figured that if there were, there wouldn’t be such a loud alarm for it. Then I saw some men wearing black masks come in with humongous pillowcases. I was sure that they were robbers, and they were. They picked almost all of us and ran outside. I could tell that there were at least one thousand dollars in this pillowcase. There was a silent murmur in the pillowcase that I could hear.
Finally, we stopped moving and we were all stationary. I thought we had reached, but we were put in another vehicle and we drove far, far away. There was a little hole in the pillowcase, so without anyone else knowing, I hopped out. It was really dark, but I could see the doors. I found a tiny crack, and I slid through it. I flew and finally landed in a bush. I had to hide quickly before anybody saw me. So, I found a rock and hid under it.
I peeked out and saw a sign spelling ‘Barcelona, Spain.’ I knew that there was a famous soccer team here, called FC Barcelona. I was just dreaming of myself being the star player on the team. My dreams got crushed when I saw a poster of the actual team. They were really big, like all humans I have seen. I wish that there was a league for dollar bills to play a sport.
I hesitantly walked out of the rock trying to not be seen. I suddenly heard footsteps approaching me!
A little boy picked me up and yelled, “Mom! Look! I found a hundred dollars!”
The mom said, “Oh, give that to me! Now, I can buy the best purse!”
The boy yelled, “I found it, so I get it.”
The mom argued, “You wouldn’t have found it if I hadn’t given birth to you!”
They argued for what seemed like days!
The mom finally said, “ Alright, Fine! We get to share it. You get fifty of it and I do too!”
Just after that, a strong breeze picked up and I flew away high in the air. I could see the whole city! It was great! As I said earlier, all good things come to an end. A bird picked me up and took me to an old man’s house. It seemed that the old man owned this bird, and told it to go get me. The old man just stared at me for a few minutes. He had crooked teeth and looked really dirty. I was pretty sure that he was homeless. Now, he could buy a few things with me. I took it in a good way that I helped someone. He bought food worth one hundred dollars.
Now I was in a dark cash register box. I was settled in there for a few days until I was handed to a man in a car. He drove somewhere while chewing on his double-deluxe cheeseburger. We drove and drove and drove.
It has been 100 years now, and I am useless because now I am worth nothing. I am also really old, so they are about to burn me. As I always say, all good things come to an end.
