2021 MacBook Rumors, Release Date, Price, Leaks, and More

The 2021 Macbook Pro is underway and will start selling soon. With many next-gen features, the laptop will release around the third quarter of 2021 which is from July through September, which is a good selling time for student buyers.

The Macbook will have a minimal bezel which is particularly good news for binge watchers. The touchpad will most likely be much bigger than its predecessors.

Also, the Macbook will not have a touch bar. This is bad news for some and good news for some too. The touch bar takes away your normal F-Keys, which many users loathed. Although, many people also really enjoyed the touch bar because it would change depending on what app you were using currently. For example, if you were playing music it would have a play, pause, next track, and previous track buttons on the bar along with some other general functions such as touch ID, lower and higher brightness, volume control, and Siri. You could also autofill words and type emojis based on what app you were using. While that all sounds good, it didn't live up to the hype.

Now the price factor. There are two main MacBook Pros in the market right now. The 13-inch M1 processor and the 16-inch Core processor laptop. The 13-inch starts at $1,299 and the 16-inch starts at $2,399. The 2021 MacBook will be 14-inch with the new M1X processor. The estimated price for the entry level Mac will be expected to be around $1,299- $1,599 depending on if the current 13-inch model will leave the market upon the 2021 model.

One thing many users are expecting is a touchscreen on their laptops. Unfortunately, there is a very low chance of touchscreen in MacBooks not just this year but for a long time. This is probably because, in 2010 former CEO, Steve Jobs called touchscreen laptops "ergonomically terrible".

The laptop will be in the design of the 2020 iPhone 12 and iPad with square edges and shape. The laptop itself will be one of the thinnest laptops. Additionally, the Macbook will get rid of the 'Butterfly Keyboard' which was introduced back in 2015. The keyboard is often referred to equal as tapping on ice due to the extremely low amount of travel on the keyboard.

One key feature for the laptop is MagSafe magnetic charging coming back. This is idea was introduced in 2006 for the MacBook 1st generation MacBook pro, and later took off the magnetic charging for USB-C charging in 2019.

Here are all the ports that will most likely be on the 2021 Macbook Pro:

  • SD Card Slot
  • Magsafe Power Port (Magnetic Charging)
  • HDMI Port
  • USB-C Port
In Conclusion, the MacBook Pro will be a very refreshed design of its predecessors. Including many new ports, a different structural design, and a new processor.
